★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a pleasant surprise! I just happened to be in the neighborhood and had a time to spare, so I decided to visit this place. It's very educational and makes you appreciate where your water comes from. And it's free!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After visiting the Heian Shrine, you could take a walk along this canal to Nanzanji. River side and Kyoto Zoo provides the peaceful feeling to each passengers.
BTW, the trees along the canal are suitable to different seasons as well.
