"寺院”と言うより"別荘”と言う方が適切かもです。寺院らしい堂宇は有りません。
が、藪内家11代目透月斎竹窓によって改修された素晴らしい庭園が有ります。
It is a place that is rarely seen (for the average person).
It may be more appropriate to call it a "villa" rather than a "temple". There is no temple-like temple.
However, there is a wonderful garden renovated by the 11th generation Togetsusai bamboo window of the Yabuuchi family.

南禅寺の塔頭のひとつで敷地内にあるにもかかわらず、ほとんど観光客がいません。
見事な池泉式庭園を眺めながら、ゆったりとした時間を堪能出来ます。
今年が初めての公開らしく、あまり知られていないようです。
来年からは少し混み合いそうなので、今年はおススメです。
I visited for the first time in autumn special view.
Despite being on the premises at one of the towers of Nanzenji, there are few tourists.
You can enjoy a relaxing time while looking out at the stunning pond spring garden.
It seems that this year is the first release, and it seems that it is not well known.
It seems to be a little crowded next year, so this year is recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 明治の廃仏毀釈の際に、南禅寺は規模の縮小を余儀なくされ、沢山の塔頭が個人所有の別荘などに姿を変えました。こちらも、元は大寧院でしたが、近年再び南禅寺の所有となり2019年春から期間限定で公開されています。現状は、春と秋の２度の期間しか拝見できません。
基本的には庭園のみの見学です。
庭園は、茶道藪内家の十一代当主が作庭して造園から約100年と比較的新しいものです。池の水は琵琶湖疎水から引かれており、琵琶湖をかたどった池に流れ込んでいます。
茶室は「環水庵」といい、この庭はそれに因み「環水庵庭園」と呼ばれています。
池の中に立つ三方正面の明神鳥居は、後に置かれたものではありますが、太秦の蚕ノ社と同様な形で珍しいものです。
他にも、亀の形の一文字手水鉢、玄武岩の柱状石、井筒など随所に特徴ある作風が見られます。
紅葉は素晴らしかったです。 南禅寺には見所が沢山ありますが、こちらは公開していたらぜひ見るべき庭だと思います。
During the abolition of Buddha in the Meiji era, Nanzenji was forced to shrink in scale, and many towers were transformed into privately owned villas. This was originally Dainingin, but in recent years it has been owned by Nanzenji again and is open to the public for a limited time from the spring of 2019. Currently, you can only see it during the two periods of spring and autumn.
Basically, it is a tour of the garden only.
The garden is relatively new, about 100 years after it was created by the eleventh owner of the Chado Yabuuchi family. The water in the pond is drawn from the hydrophobicity of Lake Biwa and flows into the pond in the shape of Lake Biwa.
The tea room is called "Kansui-an", and this garden is called "Kansui-an Garden" after that.
The Myojin Torii in front of the three sides standing in the pond, although it was placed later, is unusual in the same shape as the silkworm shrine of Taihata.
In addition, you can see unique styles such as a turtle-shaped one-character hand water bowl, columnar stones of Genbu rock, and Izutsu.
The autumn leaves were wonderful. There are many attractions in Nanzenji, but I think this is a garden that you should definitely see if it is open to the public.

ここに来る前、天授庵へ行きましたが、紅葉シーズンで大変混んでいたのに比べ、紅葉が綺麗な割には人はまばらで穴場的存在です。
庭の奥には東屋もあり腰掛けながらゆっくりと紅葉を堪能してきました。
期間限定公開なので、早めに行くことをお勧めします。特に紅葉をバックに写真を撮りたい方には、拝観者が少ないから他人を気にすること無く撮ることが出来ます。
I visited on November 17, 2nd year of Reiwa.
Before I came here, I went to Tenju-an, but compared to the fact that it was very crowded during the autumn leaves season, people are sparse and a little-known place despite the beautiful autumn leaves.
There is also an eastern house in the back of the garden, and I slowly enjoyed the autumn leaves while sitting down.
It will be open for a limited time, so we recommend that you go early. Especially for those who want to take pictures with the autumn leaves in the background, there are few visitors so you can take pictures without worrying about others.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2019年11月中頃に特別公開ということで訪れました。
人が少なかったので、ゆっくり庭園を見て回ることができました。
庭園には兵庫の玄武洞より切り出された玄武岩の柱状列石があります。現在は玄武洞は天然記念物に指定されており、こうして玄武岩を見られるのは大変貴重なのだそう。
他にも三ツ鳥居など見所がたくさんあるので、拝観時期を確認の上、訪れていただきたいです。
I visited in the middle of November 2019 because it was a special exhibition.
There weren't many people, so I was able to take a leisurely tour of the garden.
In the garden, there are columnar stones of basalt cut out from Genbudo in Hyogo. Currently, Genbudo is designated as a natural monument, and it is very valuable to see basalt in this way.
There are many other attractions such as Mitsutorii, so please check the viewing time before visiting.
