★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 琵琶湖疏水から分かれて祇園へと流れ下る白川の上流の部分にあたります。祇園白川は季節を問わず大変なにぎわいですが、ここはいたって静かで落ち着いた風情を感じることが出来る場所です。
流れに沿って細い道がつけられており、地下鉄東山駅から美術館・平安神宮方面への近道にもなっています。春は桜が美しく咲きそろいます。
It is the upper part of the Shirakawa River that separates from Lake Biwa Canal and flows down to Gion. Gion Shirakawa is very busy regardless of the season, but this is a place where you can feel a quiet and calm atmosphere.
A narrow road is attached along the flow, and it is also a shortcut from Higashiyama Subway Station to the museum and Heian Jingu area. Cherry blossoms bloom beautifully in spring.
