★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time trying a Kaiseki in Japan. Decided to go there after browsing the internet. We ordered two 10 course dinners, the cheapest one (about 5000 yen). Well it definitelty worth a try. Each meal was really fine tuned dish with its own taste. The whole dinner was a big taste discovery and quite filling. Staff is welcoming and the place is traditinal. We'll probably comeback. I just removed one star because compared to the other meals, the desert was quite simple and disappointing, but it still okay. I recommend anytime !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great all round experience. The food was good with a great mix of seasonal meat, seafood and vegetables. I’m told that this is probably their finest example of Kaiseki (multi-course meal) in Kyoto. I recommend the sets that come with Kyoto beef. Be prepared to pay.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little hard to find, but an excellent choice for a first-time kaiseki dinner. Actual entrance is down the alleyway. Reservations needed. All the dishes were well prepared and delicious. Staff were very friendly and knew a bit of English.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered 2 aoi and 1 fuji kaiseki for lunch and found ourselves to be enjoying one of our best lunch experience ever. We found ourselves impressed by the taste of every dish served. The portions were also incredibly huge that it could leave us 3 gluttons satisfied with the meal. Although we were being quite a nuisance to the hostess (asking her to take a photo with us and checking with her how to eat every dish), she was always very patient and accommodating to us, scraping every bits of english she could master to help us enjoy our meal more. We highly recommend this place for lunch, especially the fuji kaiseki meal. I truly think it is a must try!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kyoryori (Kyoto kaiseki) is a must try in Kyoto and this restaurant made it to perfect. It was delicious and the staffs are friendly.
The only thing is I’m a bit afraid of having raw (still alive) shrimp still moving in front of me when I’m eating it’s meat. I’m such a hypocrite predator...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience. It’s not my first time with kaiseki ryouri but it was definitely the most enjoyable. Due to COVID-19 we were literally the only people in the restaurant and the servers and staff sat and chatted with us about the shop and about the food. It’s the first time I’ve ever enjoyed uni, so that tells you about the quality! We had the “hana” something something course for about 11000¥ and boy do I recommend it. There was actually more food on some of these plates but I was so excited I ate it before I remembered to take a picture ?

It was somehow even better than the first time in 2019.
The closest word there is to describe the Iwakiri of food is “perfection”. Everything is so perfectly balanced, not a thing out of place. You leave feeling perfectly satisfied, not too full and not at all hungry. Everything is perfectly portioned.
The staff are wonderful as well, very professional while also so kind and personable

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to Kyoto on 2019. The service and vibe was perfect. There are 2 tables in a room and it’s quite private. The Japanese traditional decoration immersed us a peaceful dining spirit. I thought this delicate type of food it’s an art form. I’d heard it’s a must-try experience in Kyoto though it’s really expensive. We paid a total amount of 23430 yen for two. Personally, the flavor in this meal wasn’t surprising me so I love upscale sushi restaurants more.
