Everything was poor.
My friend ordered "Vegetarian meals" but they served fish as an appetizer.
If you waste your money here, you had better eat at diner on the 7th floor in Takashimaya.

Mandatory 500 yen appetiser and 15% service fee, on top of already overpriced food. Poor service. Shabu Shabu was only.. Okay, not great. Vegetarian set was quite disappointing.
We ate at a bunch of different places around Gion and this was both the worst, and most expensive! Avoid!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I paid ¥10000 for course . Food was average, some dishes were microwaved, very disappointing for the price. The server was very kind maybe because I came with my Japanese wife and my Japanese was good enough. I didn’t get charged the 15% service charge only 10%.
Highly do not recommend for tourists or locals.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not as bad as other reviews here suggested. They serve traditional Kyoto cuisine and we had the tofu set which came with some other side dishes. The tofu was silkily smooth and soymilk has a very strong yellow bean flavour. We were seated in the tatami dining table which overlooked a Japanese garden so it was quite a good experience. However, the portions were quite small and it was quite pricey. So all in all, 3 stars.
