★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the set lunch of Oyakodon, rice, chicken, onion and eggs, served in a sizzling hot stone bowl. First time that either had this dish but it was excellent. Staff were all very friendly, spoke excellent English and helped with how best to eat this dish. Very filling and helped down with some iced oolong (included).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At lunch time, they only serve one dish: stone bowl oyakodon. With three eggs. It’s good. So good. The egg gives the crispy rice gooey richness. The line goes far out the door and you can’t book at lunch time, so best bet is to line up 10 minutes before they open, so you get to be in the first sitting. You can book at dinner time but the menu is yakitori (we didn’t manage to try, but next time we will!)

Server doesn't look happy but I guess that's the way they behave in general.

Just wait to be seated ‘coz the place has very limited seating capacity. Make sure also that you’re there before 2pm - they’re only open ‘til 2 pm then at 5pm again for dinner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come here if you like Oyakodon, or chicken and egg in a hot stone bowl. This is the best Oyakodon place in Japan that I’ve been to. I recommend you eat from the middle out and don’t forget a little seaweed, chicken broth, and spice on top! I went here for lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. It’s a nice change of pace if you want something not fried. And the hot stone bowl makes the rice nice crispy! Makes for the best last bite.
