This place is the cheapest in the area for lunch if you're going around Arashiyama looking at the bamboo forest and temples.
There is an English menu but there aren't many photos of their dishes on it so you'll need to have some knowledge of Japanese dishes to decide on what you want.
Try the wanko soba teishoku for the most value for your money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious, fresh food! A relatively quite place with friendly staffs and traditional vibes. We ordered beef don, pork don, eel don, Japanese omelette, udon and soba - everything was satisfying! Not fancy but really great local food. I recommend you to enjoy here.
