Great restaurant. They have vegetarian options that are available for you to eat. The soba noodles are delicious and there were very accommodating and they have a menu in English which is very helpful. The food was great

Our group arrived here about 4:50pm and although they were about to close at 5, the uncle who ran this place did not turn us away. Now, for the food, the Soba was the best thing I have had in a long long time. The soup was incredibly flavourful and the preserved Saba that came along with the soba is amazing to say the least. Nothing was too salty or not salty enough, it was just perfect. The black soy hot drink was a treat as well. To top it off, the uncle stayed open till 620pm to ensure we receive impeccable service. Hope to one day return here again and enjoy the meal!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located near a local temple is this amazing gem. When we came, there were no employees other than one older gentleman, who welcomed us and immediately took care of us. He prepared everything by himself and made sure that all sweets are beautifully arranged. The place is very peaceful and relaxing. Good for coming alone or in small groups and enjoy quit time. The owner was friendly and polite.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Every time I go to Japan and stay in Kyoto, I visit this place. 7 times during 7 vacations in the last 4 years. I love this place! The nice and friendly old man who does everything by himself, the atmosphere, the food, everything.
I always eat the green tea soba with deep fried tofu and never get enough. You have to wait quite a long time if there are a few people, but it's worth every minute!
Hopefully I can visit this place next year again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tasty food made by a sweet old man! There’s a one man band at this place who does everything from greet you to wait you and cook for you.
The food has delicate tastes and seems much more fresher than what you’d find in downtown Kyoto or near Kyoto station.
It’s in and amongst the suburbs near some of the temples you may visit on your stay. Well worth a visit on the way or way back from town.
