★ ★ ★ ★ ★ How can such a simple bowl of nishin udon and tempura soba taste so simple yet so good? Nothing fancy; Simple yet good.. Tempura soba has a very refreshing broth. Definitely recommended. And it's open on new year!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly service. Great authentic soba, but what really distinguishes this place is the sweets, particularly the dango (grilled rice dumplings) with sweet sauce. Good spot to stop after enduring the crowds at the bamboo forest and temples.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this gem in the middle of a heat wave. Had the Temzaru cold soba + tempura set for lunch and a delicious jelly with toasted soybean powder (Warabi-mochi). Friendly staff and very affordable prices. 10/10 would eat again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very delicious soba noodles. Probably the best we had. We ordered hot soba with fish (nishin soba) which is a typical Kyoto dish. The staff is very welcoming and they speak English. Menu in English is also available, so overall it’s a Gaijin-friendly place ? Prices are affordable and the atmosphere is really nice. It’s good to get away from the crowd of the main street.
