★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the best sushi we had in our visit to Japan. Now we just finished another unpleasant sushi lunch (Google review 4.3) in Tokyo, our whole family can't stop missing this place. This place is amazing. We ordered sushi meal for everyone including my 5 year old son. Every single piece is amazingly fresh and tasty. I particularly like the one with slightly-grilled tuna. I had similar tuna in Bay area and the taste was not even comparable. The service is also wonderful. Finally the price is unbelievably cheap, especially for this type of service. I really hope I could find this place earlier so that I could visit more times when I was in Kyoto.
PS, saw some reviews mentioned price as 12000 or 10000 per person. Realized I made mistake. I thought the price was 1200. But anyway the food and the service worth the money.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Yes my friends, this is one of the best sushi restaurants around. Mostly because this is really different from the Edo style sushi which is so common.
No music, no chatting, just serious sushi making in full concentration. The chef ages and marinates his fish to bring out new complex flavors and textures. The urchin sushi was so white and creamy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Never have I ever had such amazing sushi - mind blown. This is a ridiculous find. Difficult to locate and very minimalist. One chef does everything from making the food to serving the sake. Food is high quality, price matches as a result. Thanks!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was the best sushi/sashimi experience I’ve ever had in Japan. Although the owner/chef doesn’t speak English, I used the google voice translation app to order whatever he recommends. For two people, a mini set each with extra Otoro sushi and a couple of beers came to 25,000 yen. Very much worth it for such high quality sushi and sashimi, and a very exclusive experience. We were the only ones in the restaurant. Superb!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my first experience of the high end sushi. The restaurant is neat and quiet. The omakasa lunch course I have come with appetizers, sashimi dish and 12 pieces of nigiri as well as miso soup. There isn't much talking but just simply joy of texture, flavor and showcase of craftsmanship. I have a great time there.
