★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'd never had this style of sushi before and I was not disappointed. Extremely rich in flavor and delicious! Would recommend ordering a little less than you think you could eat - it is very filing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting sushi, limited food options.. bought the saba sushi back, hope it'll be good! Love the interior, even though there's very few seats, I was seated alone in a table for four. Not sure why people are saying the staffs are not polite towards foreigners but they were all very nice to everyone.. And they do have an english menu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very classic Kyoto-style sushi. My favorite is the inari - they have a fresh yuzu flavor in it. At lunchtime plenty of locals taking away, showing this place is popular among them.
I still prefer the popular common sushi better to be honest. But one must go here to experience Kyoto sushi at least once. The interior is a unique old house.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice cozy place for kyoto sushi. First time ever trying a very different type of sushi. Very flavourful taste. Has English menu for those who doesn't understand Japanese, and has set meal menu for 2-6 pax so that it is easier to share and try a variety.
Had a set for 2 pax (see pic) and was super filling. Sadly gudi and Inari was out when I arrived so they swapped to something else, and also adjusted the pricing. Standard 2 pax is around 3.5-4.5k yen, which is quite worth the quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious Kyoto-style sushi, reasonable prices. The restaurant is pretty small with just about five tables so you may have wait a bit. The service is friendly and quick. You can see the chefs busy at work preparing the dishes right at the front entrance.
Their specialty is their inari sushi (tofu wrapped rice balls) which is loaded with flavor. Their deluxe hako sushi is rice topped with various seafood making it a variety platter to choose from. Recommend ordering the set menu for the appropriate number of people in order to ensure trying all their best dishes.
Kyoto style sushi is heavy on rice so you’ll get full quickly!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best mackerel sushi in my life. No hyperbolic, literally I haven't met better mackerel sushi than here. The mackerel is very juicy and the combination with vinegared rice is beautiful. Mackerel sushi is one of the local foods in Kyoto so there are several famous and traditional restaurants for it. Here is the one and personally the best among them. It is very in front of Yasaka shrine so the location is also good. Interior is very traditional Japanese house style so you also may like it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved it. The ambience, the small tables and the food of course. Totally worth it. You don’t have to order the most expensive thing or go for the sets. You just need to eat their Saba mackerel sushi! It’s their number one. It’s tasty. I like the vinegary rice and the fish texture was good. It’s not raw tasting. For something different and from Kyoto you should totally try this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located right in the heart of this popular tourist area, this restaurant has the "Kyoto" feel. Quite small, specializing in pressed sushi. The set for two people have us a good variety to try. They were pretty good, not z lot of fish on top, rice was tasty and a bit wet and sticky, sweet and a bit sour. We enjoyed them, especially the ones with the bean curd skin. The fish head was fresh, but the soup was kind of fishy. Good experience, cute restaurant. Prices were on the high end.
