★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here because we couldn't get in to Unagiya Hirokawa down the street. You put your name on a list and they seat you in that order as tables become available, larger groups end up waiting longer. There is a minimum per person order, which is common in touristy areas. The noodles are average, it's safest to stick with the tempura since the fish was a little bland.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite expensive for small portion bowl of udon. Ordered udon set which comes with also rice and tofu in bowl but didn't even come with utensils purposes for these.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An easy-to-choose menu in both Japanese and English. The single meal was well enough to fight off hunger, seemed like the set meal with some extras would've been too much. The tempura was amazing and popping fresh, udon noodles were good. Good and happy service all around. The atmosphere was nice and cozy, a small building with enough intimacy between tables. Not expensive but not cheap either. Seemed to be one of the staples around. I chose it for it's ease of approach and not being a more high end restaurant. No regrets!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Udon experience. 2 storeys. Menu with japanese or english. Hospitable service. No waiting line during lunch hours but was packed. Near Arashiyama in the main street. Walkable from subway station Saga-Arashiyama. Udon is sweet and savory. Tried the beef, and duck and scallion.
