★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best Tofu that we ever had. Totally worth to visit, we got the 5 course menu, so we could taste different types of home made Tofu. The service was perfect, and even our japanes it‘s bad, the waitress and even the chef and his family came and tried to explain everything for us. At the end they even offered a home made vanilla ice-cream for free.
The hardest part was to eat the Tofu with chopsticks ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A wonderful place that is quite secluded. The tofu here is exquisite and reasonably priced. There are different flavor tofus and they are prepared in different ways. A very relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent place for a tofu meal. Presented in ways that appeal to your senses and tastebuds in a traditional home setting - tatami floors, low tables, great ambience. Service is impeccable. Owner is friendly. Some English is spoken. My favourite place to visit when I come to Arashiyama.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I enjoyed our late lunch here, highly recommend. No waiting, the restaurant is slightly hidden - across the road and very near the entrance pathway to the bamboo forest. Restaurant has a very authentic Japanese feel. The staff here speak some English and explained how to boil the tofu and what each of the dishes are.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing tofu restaurant. The tofu was so smooth and silky, and the seasoning for the special dishes was on point. Also excellent service. They have an English menu and can speak limited English. Would highly recommend if you enjoy tofu! (all dishes we had were vegetarian)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The entrance can be easily missed along the streets. Once you are inside, you are required to leave your shoes as it is a tatami setting.
The menu is quite standard and I ordered the JPY3600 menu which is very filling.

The best dish is the cold tofu which you have to heat yourself for 2mins. Really good and I regretted leaving the last piece to the end as you get very full with the rice.
I also love the rice and sesame tofu.
