龍安寺拝観の前に昼食に立ち寄ったうどん店。店内はテーブル席が4卓あり、フランス語を話す外国人ファミリー客が一組。 メニューから他人うどんを注文。手打ちの細麺の上に牛肉とねぎを煮て卵でとじた具が乗っている。出汁はあっさりして食べやすい。麺は柔らかめだが、手打ちならではのもっちり感があり、家庭的なやさしい味わいだった。 ご長寿のお女将さんの気さくな人柄が、ほのぼのとした雰囲気を醸し出していた。 どうかいつまでもお元気で。
Udon shop where we stopped for lunch before Ryoanji Temple. There are 4 table seats in the store, and one set of French-speaking foreign family guests. Order others udon from the menu. Boiled beef and green onion on top of hand-made thin noodles, and then the ingredients are chopped with eggs. The soup is light and easy to eat. The noodles were soft, but there was a feeling of stickiness only by hand, and a homely friendly taste. The friendly personality of the longevity landlady created a warm atmosphere. Please stay healthy forever.

作家、井上靖が京都帝国大学文学部(現京都大学)の学生時代、店がある近くに下宿していて夜の余り客がいない時間によく通っていたという隠れた名店。(※彼の書「文壇放浪」にこの店の話が書かれている)井上はきつねうどんを好んで食べたそうだ。店には晩年、ここに来るのは最後だと訪ねきつねうどんを食し、病で寝込む店主のお母さんのそばで2時間以上も静かに座って、最後に色紙を書いてずっと飾って欲しいと言って店を後にしたエピソードが。今もその色紙は店内に飾られている。なべ焼きうどん、カレーうどん、あんかけうどん、玉子丼、かつ丼。皆うまいが、シンプルにネギだけのせた素うどんがうまい。それだけで店のレベルがわかると言うもの。

Everyone is good, but the udon noodles that are simply topped with green onions are good. You can tell the level of the store just by that.

龍安寺に向かう途中、利用しました。 100年近く続く自家製麺の老舗うどん屋さんのようですが、細くて柔らかく腰の無いうどんで、私には合いませんでした。 私が利用した際、足の悪いお婆さんが配膳し、その息子さん?が厨房に居るようでしたが、厨房から大きなクシャミ音や、お婆さんに怒っている様な声が聞こえ、何だかなと思いました。 飲食チェーン店が無さそうな地域の様なので、そんなものだと言われれば、そんなものな気がします。 メニュー表は写真が載っておらず、分かり辛かったです。 麺大盛りは+150円のようです。 投稿した写真は、天婦羅うどん大盛りです。
I used it on the way to Ryoanji Temple. It seems to be a long-established udon restaurant with homemade noodles that has been around for nearly 100 years, but it was thin, soft and chewy, so it didn't suit me. When I used it, an old woman with a bad leg served it, and was her son? Seemed to be in the kitchen, but I heard a loud sneezing sound from the kitchen and an angry voice from my grandmother, and I wondered what it was. It seems that there are no restaurant chains in the area, so if you say that, I feel like that. The menu table didn't have pictures, so it was hard to understand.
