T	Tom Conte on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great if you want a traditional Japanese hotel. The in-room breakfast is amazing. Like most of Kyoto inner streets, it is a crowded neighborhood, though.

Our traditional all Kyoto Japanese breakfast and dinner was served in our room, with the staff furling/unfurling the tatami when necessary. The tatami was also as good as a bed! We used the Onsen on both nights (after dinner) and both times it was empty. Service and cleanliness was also exemplary. If there was one thing that could be improved, it would be the Onsen as compared to the traditional design of the ryokan, we found it too modern to our tastes. Lastly, the ryokan is situated in a very good location. Roughly 5-10 minuets from the centre of Gion.

E	Emily Wong on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was a good ryokan experience, but I went to an amazing one in Gora with a private onsen so I can't really compare. This one was fairly clean, nice and we had a spacious room. We also had decent kaiseki dinner served in our room. After dinner, the staff set up the futon on the tatami mats which was interesting to watch. The hospitality was really something. My favorite part of the stay was the dessert which was part of dinner. Otherwise, there wasn't anything special about the stay and I found the room fairly noisy at night with the creaking of the floorboards in the room above us.
K	Kiseki Meru on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice ryokan in the heart of the city. The price is quite steep but many tourist sightseeing places are all around you. The food is okay, the room clean, and the bath nice. Most staff can speak English and are very helpful.

The Japanese style room ( with garden) is bigger than I expected, it's also a well mix of elegant and function. The location is very good too, it's a 5 mins walk to a major subway station and 3 mins walk to 錦市場｡
A	AJ Yan (AJlooksaround) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Its a small ryokan in the center of Kyoto, so great location. The traditional Japanese room was very cozy and the dinner and breakfast was delicious l. The service was excellent, and I like the breakfast and dinner were actually done in your own room. The only weird thing that stoke me a little was guests were not allowed to bring keys outside the hotel.
