★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice onsen baths. Rooms were clean spacious. Staffs were friendly. It is particularly recommendable for winter season.
Food was okay but soba was very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice Ryokan. The staff are wonderful and accommodating, they even placed up signs and information in English for me.
The dinner was very nice and soba is part of the meal here.
My room was facing the stream so that was very nice to sleep to. Plus the room was very comfortable and clean.
The onsen part is nice, there are separate male and female. Add a bonus there are two private onsen baths if you want to enjoy with your family or alone.
Finally they have a mini van, dark blue colour, that will pick you up at the bus stop.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Peaceful and relaxing!! If you have ever been to an onsen before, this one is easy to navigate and they speak a bit of english. The outside pool is amazing in winter and the noodle shop is delicious. I have lived on and off in the Akita prefecture and this is my favorite onsen. The water is hot but not too hot there is plenty of sulfur in the water but it does not stink too bad.
I feel like I have had a whole body massage after 30 minutes in that water. Don't forget to take at least one shower with shampoo and soap before you get in the water. Most men do multiple scrubs and showers before soaking for a long time

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best hotels I have ever visited. The room is spacious. There are two open air private baths where you can see beautiful stream and woods. The water is 100% natural hot spring. The water is clear with a smell of sulfur, oil and wood. The water contains a bunch of ions. The facilities are clean. The food was great. They offer shuttle service for Tsurunoyu at 20:00.
