★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, the name KYOMEN is a nice name. Perfect for the beautiful Kyoto and the "men" means noodles. They stand true to the name Kyoto with their food. It's beautifully presented and delicately prepared especially their pickles. It's very "JYOUHIN", means it is classy. Service is also good here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple little place located opposite Yasaka Shrine. Ordered the beef curry udon on my previous trip to Kyoto and simply had to come back to this place again! The beef slices were thin yet juicy and the udon was delicious! Service was good as well! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting the Gion area!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Reading the reviews here I was excited to go, however was honestly disappointed considering the hype around it. Ordered the box set which had some great tempura although was let down by the average soba and cheap garnishes. Waiter was clearly disinterested and didn't take pride in the restaurant - first time I've experienced that in Japan. Overall was okay, good beer - quick service but let down.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oh my god. Awesome noodle for me noodleman. Having been eating in this store for three dinners, none has disappointed me. compared with the lunches same noodles I had elsewhere this store beats them all easily. Very reasonable price and top quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quiet, spacious interior, with the option of standard seating arrangements and tatami mats for a traditional Japanese experience. Lovely and lightly flavoured udon with beautiful presentation. The chicken-egg rice bowl was runny and melted in your mouth. Come here for an excellent meal after exploring the busy streets of Gion!
