★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is so nice and was a welcome getaway from from summer heat and crowds of the near by markets. We had the kitsu Udon which seemed vegetarian though I can't say what the broth was made of. Everyone there was very nice and patient with us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had the curry udon, perhaps it caters for a local taste that doesn't appeal to me but unfortunately I don't have anything positive to say. I've had much better noodles from the combini. The udon noodles were soggy and the sauce tasted like off the shelf curry powder. It's the first meal in more than two weeks in Japan I haven't finished. There is an awkward atmosphere in the shop too. Inexpensive but I would not recommend to tourists. Sorry ??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really enjoyed this place! Great, authentic udon and inexpensive! Nice variety of options, including vegetarian-friendly dishes. Broth was very tasty! They offer menus in English, Chinese and Japanese. Despite inconsistent reviews of their service from previous reviewers, they were very quick with the service (our order arrived in under 2 minutes) and were very hospitable to us! Absolutely no complaints! They serve beer and sake also. With drinks our check was under $30 USD (approx. ¥2,900). Great late-night, simple dinner that will satisfy, and with quality and character! For added fun, they keep celebrity visitors’ signatures on the wall, which adds a nice touch.

The noodle is so soft. This location never disappoints. I've been here several different times and never had a problem with the staff or the food.

Curry tasted really soft the bunch of cheese just add Fat and no flavor.. after a a minute the the starch disappears and was a watery soup full of cheese..
The nodded was overcook too..
Service is ok..
Overall very poor place

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very famous restaurant for curry noodles.
You can enjoy the taste of curry and choice of a lot of toppings.
However it’s difficult to find specific differences compare with other curry noodle at other restaurants .
If you already have visited other famous curry noodle restaurant, maybe there is no big surprise for you.
Off course the location and atmosphere are very special, so you can enjoy Kyoto feeling there . That’s all .
