★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing ramen! Came to tour Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka mainly for ramen and other food and this place is BY FAR the best I've had out of the 4 places we've eaten (2 with Michelins). Tucked away in on a quiet street near Kyoto Station lies this small Ramen shop. The broth was amazingly fragrant with a distinct pork and slight vegetable aroma. Taste was the same amazing pork, with notes of roasted garlic and green onions. Topped with slices of sweet, fatty and perfectly seasoned pork and green onion. The noodles were fresh and had a very subtle chew, perfect. I'm not sure if they're made in house or not. There was no flare or a plethora of toppings; there was no need for it. Just simply ramen. I look forward to seeing you next trip.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I thought the ramen tasted alright - it was felt like it was missing something (my bowl might also be affected because I came just before the store closes). Gyoza, on the other hand, was very good. Next time if I come, I'd double down on the gyoza alone. They also do take away for gyoza, just heads up you also need to pay extra 50yen for a container fee (for the take away box).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old lady working at this place was so charming. It looked like the personel had good vibes. However, the ramen really lacked flavor. Please note that I do not have a lot of experience of ramen. But I love Ichiran and Ippudo. They are great, have rich taste. This is very mild in flavor which I'm not looking for in a ramen. So, low score from me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best ramen I had in Kyoto! It’s inexpensive, tourist friendly and the staff is very kind, they even gave us umbrellas because it was raining. Also the gyozas are veeery good! Definitely a must :)
