I remember fishing goldfish in a moat when I was a kid. (About 45 years ago) Nowadays, there are souvenir shops and it is a tourist spot, but it is still a wonderful shrine.

It took about two and a half hours to transfer to Yonezawa station, so I rented a rental cycle in front of the station. I went without knowing much, but when I thought that I didn't feel the invisible power, it was a power spot. Um, there is also! I didn't know that Date Masamune was born in Yonezawa! After that, Yonezawa, who continued to produce many famous people such as Takayama after Kagekatsu Uesugi through Mr. Gamo, must have some power!

A lush garden surrounded by a moat, this shrine is irresistible for history lovers. You can see that it is called a power spot. It was great if it was in the neighborhood. It is one of the shrines I would like to visit again. Free parking available! You can also enjoy souvenirs and light meals. It's also good for a family walk.

I came to Uesugi Shrine for the first time while visiting Yonezawa many times. Is it the place where the main circle was originally located? Take a walk while studying. A solid tour route to the beautiful Mihori! As expected, Uesugi! Speaking of Uesugi, Kenshin! It became famous for the taiga drama "Heaven and Earth". I heard that from Niigata (Nagaoka?) To Aizu and then to Yonezawa, after losing the battle of Sekigahara, I managed to protect the Uesugi family and reduce the stone height to Yonezawa. I am. (By Tenchijin) Town planning, human development, industry (country) building! In this city like a grid, you can feel the local industry (culture) that Fukushima and Koriyama do not have. .. I still feel that the ideas of urban development in the past (hundreds of years ago) are truly amazing. I can feel the thoughts that live in this Uesugi Shrine. Due to various problems such as corona, the economy stagnated, Japan's GDP has followed parallel lines for the past 20 years, and the world ranking has fallen to more than 20 before I knew it. It may not be long before they are removed from the developed countries (G7). * G20 may also be removed? I feel that this Uesugi Shrine is a history of the footsteps of pursuing happiness with justice and aspirations (people, clan, farmers) at that time. There is a word "government army" if you win, but even if you lose, it is amazing to feel the way of life and justice.

”If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.”
Uesugi Shrine is a tourist spot that you should visit as a set if you go to Yonezawa. It is a power spot where you can follow in the footsteps of Uesugi Takayama and Naoe Kanetsugu. When President John F. Kennedy of the United States first came to Japan, when a Japanese reporter asked, "Who is the most respected Japanese person?", He answered "Uesugi Takayama." At that time, it is known in the episode that no Japanese reporters knew the name of this "Uesugi Takayama". The famous word is "If you do it, you must do it, you can't do anything. If you don't do it, you can't do it for people." In the Hollywood movie Back to the Future, when the main character Marty slipped in time 30 years ago, the English version of this word was to tell George, who would later become his father. ”If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything.” Uesugi Takayama, which is enshrined here, was born from this phrase, which is famous both in Japan and abroad. You should stop by here even if it's a little far away.

The other day, I went to Yonezawa and visited Uesugi Shrine, which is related to Uesugi Takayama, who is said to have been influenced by Sengoku warlords, Date Masamune, Kanetsugu Naoe, Kagekatsu Uesugi, and President Kennedy. The deity is Kenshin Uesugi. It was too late, so I took a quick look. Including the former Sengoku warlords, the people of that time have hung their heads deeply and put their hands together in this place where they would have walked. In Yonezawa, which has a long history "If you don't do it, you have to do it, you can't do anything, you can't do anything, you can't do it." It depends on what I ordered to my liver.

For me if you've seen one shrine you've seen them all unless they have some crazy garden that stretches over a large area.

Shrine to the great samurai warrior Uesugi Kenshin (1530-1578) of the warring states period. Kenshin ruled Echigo in the days before the Uesugi clan was sent to Yonezawa after opting for the losing side against Tokugawa Ieyasu at Sekigahara (1600)
