★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 赤淵大明神の本社は兵庫県朝来市にあります「赤淵神社」です。
赤渕神社は大海龍王神（たいかいりゅうおうしん）と表米宿禰命（ひょうまいすくねのみこと）を祀っています。
赤渕大明神がこの地にある理由が記してあります。
「米宿禰命の子孫である朝倉義景が織田信長に滅ぼされると、
義景の娘の子孫であった九里家は米沢へ逃れてきまた。
その後、九里家は米沢で商人になり薬種問屋「越前屋」を構えます。
九里家の屋敷内には朝倉家の氏神である「赤淵大明神」を祀っていました。
屋敷を両羽銀行（現山形銀行）が購入し、“山形銀行米沢支店”を開設しますが、
赤淵大明神は壊されることなくこの地に残されています。」
概略はこのような感じです。
裏通りにある小さな神社にこのような壮大な物語が眠っているを知って、
感動したことを覚えています。
米沢市には大小さまざまな神社や石祠があります。
