S	Shelby Kano on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had to end with sushi for our last meal in Tokyo. We decided on a sushi brunch from this sushi chain that is open 24/7! Can you believe it?! Japan is the best! You can smoke inside restaurants in Japan but luckily only during the late night hours is when this restaurant allows smoking. What we ordered: $15 Chirashi bowl $20 Nigiri sushi plate Salmon nigiri Fried shrimp For the price, selection, and variety - it’s a great deal! It wouldn’t beat my sushi bar experience at Tsukiji outer market but still beautiful plating and delicious sushi. It is a chain restaurant so I ran across this place in Shibuya and Ueno neighborhoods to name a few locations. Any time of day if you are craving some sushi, give it a try!

Each table comes with a tablet for ordering which makes ordering at ease especially for foreigners who don’t know Japanese. I’d highly recommend this place!

The restaurant is very busy and the staff are all prompt and efficient. The sushi are mostly thickly sliced and the rice have a good texture and do not fall apart easily. Tried their signature tuna set, whole shrimp, raw octopus, alfonsino, amberjack. All the fish are fresh and flavorful especially their fatty tuna. The ambience is good too hence a good dining experience.

E	EE R on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m a fan of Sushi Zan Mai. But. If this Zan mai restaurant were my first, I’d never ever revisit any other of the chain. Fish tasted unfresh, the portions were tiniest I’ve ever seen in the chain. The taste was poor. Ordered food was passed us from hand to hand by the waiter instead of being set on the table. Without even asking who ordered what. It was like “here, get it and see for yourself who to pass it to next”. Picture this circus: while trying not to drop sushi from the plate passing it on overcoming the corona plastic wall. Besides that, staff yelled at their loudest. Not like I’m not used to sushi staff calling out loud things like “arigato gozaimasu”. Usually I’m ok with that. But not this way. Not when you’re not supposed to scream or sing at all. In short, if you want to eat at Zan Mai, you’d better try another one.
