★ ★ ★ ★ ★ オリンピックが終わり。嵐山にも人が沢山出ています。貸しボートや人力車が盛んな様子。行きたかった施設やお寺は、今回諦めて引き返しました。まだまだ安心出来ません。
 The Olympics are over. There are many people in Arashiyama. Rental boats and rickshaws are thriving. I gave up and turned back to the facilities and temples I wanted to visit. I still can't be relieved.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 桂川の上流、特に渡月橋より上は川幅もだんだん狭くなり、周囲の岩がごつごつした渓谷になっています。
川沿いには道があって、嵐山や遠くの小倉山を背景に、川面をゆったりと進む船の行きかう風景を堪能できます。
この道から嵐峡めぐりの船(長い竹の竿で川底を突いて進む、昔ながらの船)を撮った海外の著名な写真家の写真を見ました。私も同じ位置から同じ写真を撮ってみたいと思い、今回嵐山観光のついでに嵐峡にやって来ました。
人でごった返す渡月橋を渡って、山道に沿って川の上流へと向かいました。
山の斜面に生えている樹木は枝葉を長く伸ばし、川面に向かって枝垂れています。丁度紅葉の時期で、この辺りは最高のフォトスポットを提供してくれました。
ただ、私のように山道を歩くのは少数派です。船に乗って景観を楽しむ人が圧倒的に多いようです。
桂川の上流は絶好の舟遊びの場。嵐峡めぐり、保津川下りなどいろいろな種類の遊覧船が行きかっていました。中には小型の手漕ぎボートもあり、嵐山観光のついでに、お好きな船に乗ってみてはいかがでしょうか。

The width of the river is getting narrower upstream of the Katsura River, especially above Togetsukyo Bridge, and the surrounding rocks are rugged valleys.
There is a road along the river, and you can enjoy the scenery of the boats traveling slowly along the river with Arashiyama and Ogurayama in the distance in the background.
From this road, I saw a photograph of a well-known overseas photographer who took a boat around Arashikyo (an old-fashioned boat that pierces the riverbed with a long bamboo rod). I also wanted to take the same picture from the same position, so this time I came to Arashiyama while sightseeing in Arashiyama.
I crossed the crowded Togetsukyo Bridge and headed upstream along the mountain path to the upper reaches of the river.
Trees growing on the slopes of the mountains have long branches and leaves, and weep toward the river surface. It was just the time of autumn leaves, and this area provided the best photo spots.
However, a minority of people like me walk on mountain roads. It seems that there are overwhelmingly many people who enjoy the scenery on a boat.
The upper reaches of the Katsura River is a great place for boating. Various types of pleasure boats went around, such as visiting the Arashikyo and going down the Hozu River. There is also a small rowing boat inside, so why not take a boat of your choice while sightseeing in Arashiyama?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ モンキーパークから歩いて、星の屋迄歩いて20分。特に朝などは気持ちが良いです。車両通行止になっていますので歩きやすいです。途中、「般若心経」の意訳もあったりする？

紅葉の時期は、静かに綺麗な紅葉の鑑賞もできます。

秋の紅葉シーズンに訪れました。嵐山は人混みでごった返しですが、この道は人も少なく快適に歩けます。紅葉と川でボート？を漕いでる方がとっても素敵で写真映えします。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very beautiful place. Although this place looks very beautiful all the year round but autumn is the best time to visit. Here the autumn usually starts from the mid November and ends in the beggining of December. The best thing to do here is boating on the katsura river. The view from the observatory is also very good.

Along the way to Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, we walked along the bank of Katsura river through Kameyama Park and got to enjoy the amazing view of Katsura River with the mosaic mountain backdrop.
Strongly recommended if you enjoy relaxing walks and soaking in the scenic views.
