★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The light show of the red leaves are great. Not as much people as other hot spots in Kyoto. A place worth visit after the day time visit at the Arashiyama.

Finally, my favourite temple in Kyoto for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best places to see colorful maples in the evening. There was a very long queue waiting at the entrance before the temple opened in the evening. The best way to avoid the crowds would be coming here late and arrive right before they close the temple.

Worth the visit. During November you start to have the red leaves too.
You can visit the garden only or alsonthe temple.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After many visits to Kyoto, this was my first time at this temple. As it turns out, it is quite possibly one of my favourite temples in Kyoto. The garden was amazing with colours ranging from green to yellow to orange to deep reds. A large part is also covered in beautiful moss giving the grounds a magical feel to them. All of the paths are meticulously kept and they wind throughout the garden in an easy to follow route. I highly recommend this garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there late November, and although the autumn foliage is great in the day, what makes this place shine is the night time illumination. Definitely breathtaking and worth a visit to Arashiyama.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went there during autumn, when the leaves change color! Emerge in the darkness, illuminated by light, resonate with a mysterious beauty that is different from the daytime ?
The beauty of the scenery of red-yellow-orange-green trees is extremely lively and unforgettable! ✨?♀️
Note: come here at a later time because people tend to line up when the entrance time just opens.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another gem well worth finding. Not far of the main drag (but without the crowds!). Just below Tenryu-ji, and across the street from the very nice Bread and Espresso bakery and coffee shop (which is in a beautiful historic house with a thatched roof).
