T	Tufted Shrike on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sendai castle and statue of Date Masamune, famous Japanese general, founder of the city. Very steep walk, 2km from station, but served by Loople tourist bus as well. IC cards usable for bus, which visits all museums and shrines. Good cIty views.
K	Katrin Vogt on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sendai Castle area provides a nice outlook over the city. You can only see the foundations of the castle, it got completely destroyed. Using virtual reality on your phone you can see the castle exterior and interior.

On top of the walls there is a large space, good for getting a nice panoramic view of Sendai. Date Masamune on horse statue, a memorial and a small museum plus toilet facilities.
S	Shingo S. Ishida on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a must for history buffs of the Japanese feudal era. This is the statue of Masamune "Dokugan-Ryu" Date, the famous feudal lord sorting atop his horse. On addition, the statue is located adjacent to the pretty and scenic site of the former Sendai/Aoba Castle located on a hill that overlooks the City of Sendai. On the day we visited, there was a gentleman in full gear of a samurai warrior who demonstrated some sword fighting techniques and answered questions regarding a samurai's life during feudal times.
