Goshikinuma, located at the foot of Mt. Aoba, next to the entrance of the Sendai Municipal Museum, is considered the birthplace of figure skating in Japan. Now we don’t see enough ice in winter to ride people. A sculpture of figure skating as a memorial service and monument is installed at its feet.
