★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 登米伊達氏は大坂の陣における軍功により一門に列せら、伊達姓の名乗りを許された白石氏のこと。関ヶ原の合戦時の奥州一揆が露見したさい、当時家督を継いでいた宗直の独断で行われたこととされ、宗直は水沢城から登米郡寺池城（登米要害）へと移された。その後宗貞の時代に伊達姓を没収されたが、男子のいなかった宗貞に対して、2代藩主忠宗は白石氏に伊達姓を再下賜し一門へ復帰させる代わりに、自身の四男・五郎吉を婿養子に迎えて直ちに家督を譲るよう命じ、登米伊達氏が復興した。登米伊達氏は仙台城下のこの場所に敷跡があったと伝えられている。今は遺構もなく当時の面影もありません。
