達	達哉 on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 後白河法皇の御所であった跡に建つ寺で、広大な敷地があったとのこと。平清盛に作らせた三十三間堂はその中のお堂のひとつとのこと。 It is said that the temple was built on the site of Emperor Go-Shirakawa's palace and had a vast site. Sanjusangendo, which was made by Taira no Kiyomori, is one of the temples.
あ	あとり on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 21年1月13日に訪れました。『法住寺』は「三十三間堂」の東側、血天井で有名な「養源院」のとなりにあります。平安時代中期、右大臣・藤原為光が妻と娘の菩提を弔うため建立しました。後白河天皇は法住寺の地を院の御所と定められ、上皇となり住まわれました。御本尊の不動明王像（身代わり不動尊像）は方除けの像として信仰されています。木曾義仲の軍勢による放火の際には法王の身代わりとなったと伝えられています。御朱印をいただきました。カラフルな御朱印は限定御朱印です。また、2、5、9月には塗り絵写仏が行われているそうです。山門が通りから目を引きました。 I visited on January 13, 2009. "Hoju-ji" is located on the east side of "Sanjusangendo", next to "Yogenin" which is famous for its blood ceiling. It was erected in the middle of the Heian period by the Minister of the Right, Fujiwara no Tamemitsu, to mourn the bodhi of his wife and daughter. Emperor Go-Shirakawa decided that the land of Hoju-ji Temple was the palace of the temple, and lived there as the emperor. The statue of Fudo Myo, the principal idol, is worshiped as a wardrobe. It is said that he took the place of the Pope when the army of Yoshinaka Kiso set fire. I received a red stamp. The colorful red stamp is a limited red stamp. Also, it seems that coloring book Buddha is held in February, May and September. The mountain gate caught my eye from the street.

g	gradhito on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hoju-ji Temple is quite small compared to the vast complex of Rengeoin Sanjusangendo right across and even Yogenin Temple right next to it. However it has its allure and interest inside. I saw some seniors came to pay their respect early in the morning, a beautiful sight.

There's just a peacefulness and calm that exudes from the structure. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Note: Visited prior to Covid, so things may be different.
