★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A simple temple layout, but they have a nice goshuin, friendly monks, and a nice building for a statue of fugen bosatsu. I imagine in the spring or fall this would be a nice viewing spot of the trees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This Buddhist Temple complex is a hidden gem. I am not sure that it is always open. Wonderful grounds with lots of space and gardens. Good for serene feeling and quiet contemplation even with friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A grandiose, timber temple which is typically Japanese in its simplicity and sophistication. So many tourists stream past but I was the only one to venture in and have the chance to explore this place by myself - even if it’s for a 2 minute stickybeak - pop in and have a look
