It’s usually always busy, so be prepred to wait in line.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Short queue before parade of deliciousness. Fresh sashimi, cold pickled fish (better than it sounds) and amazing mackerel in a buzzing atmosphere. Dry sake and a cold beer to wash it down. Tips: wait to sit at the counter (if possible) and take their food recommendations!

So many great things to share: Best tuna sashimi I’ve ever eaten, amazing tempura, really good rice wine, cold beer, great atmosphere (every foreigner in this place — there were three as it was mainly Japanese diners, so not touristy — was treated like royalty by locals), and just a super cool and authentic dining experience overall. Did I mention the tuna sashimi was out of this world??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let’s start by saying the grilled dishes st this place are extraordinary. The chefs selection of fish had three different types and all were grilled to perfection. The scallops were delicious also. The karaage was quite oily but still tasty. Salmon roll was very very nice. Service was friendly. Lacked English but that’s okay as the English menu provided enough assistance. Great izakaya style food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I had an excellent meal here. They gave English menu and helpful staff. Great sashimi and best tempura - super light batter. Would recommend ordering the sake by glass, they pour it to the brim overflowing to the dish below!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's not modern but it's totally SHOWA style Izakaya. I love it. It's owned by one of Sake breweries in SHIGA pref. You can taste various polishing ratio of Sake. It's a unique experience because you can taste from 100% to 40% the ratio. Also, they offer seasonal fresh Sake.
