★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 御祭神は大宮売命・国常立命・天津彦瓊々杵命・国狭槌命・高皇産霊命・神皇産霊命・天照皇大神・天忍穂耳命・武甕槌命・経津主命の10柱。創建は大同元（806）年で、安食（小田氏）を始め当地の代々の領主の尊崇を受けていたが、佐竹氏による鹿行・行方地方の常陸大掾氏謀殺事件「南方三十三館の仕置」（天正19（1591）年）後は一時荒廃。元禄4（1691）年、徳川光圀の参拝の際、安食・柏崎・岩坪・堂山・成井横町の五箇村の総社に定められる。明治6年村社列格、大正3年共進指定。
県道118号石岡田伏土浦線沿い（といっても一車線の狭い道ですが）に鎮座していらっしゃるさすがは五箇村の総社であることよと感じるなかなかの大社です。入口の鳥居は鉄パイプが組まれた簡素なものですが、元々の赤い木造の両部鳥居は建築から400年を経て老朽化で取り壊されてしまったそうで、部材が境内右手の林の中に転がっていました。さらに参道には茅の輪が。キョロキョロ。誰も見ていないことを確認して、有り難く茅の輪くぐりをさせていだきました。先日ワクチンも２回打ったことだし、これで蘇民将来もビックリの疫病（コロナ）退散状態ですね。
