★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As usual I let my nose be my guide... The chicken udon had an incredibly deep flavor, with a seafood based broth. With a side dish of chicken tempura, it was an extremely satisfying meal. Not fancy but lovely ?! And the staff spoke English. This place which is inside the lovely Nishiki market attracts an international crowd...for good reason!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The udon was tasty but what really surprises me is probably the thought behind the food. Let me explain: I ordered the nabe udon and the last I remembered ordering such a dish, it was at a legit nabe udon restaurant and the portion could fill 2 of me at a price tag of almost 3000yen. So I’m kinda curious what this mere 800yen nabe udon could be... Wells, I am pleasantly surprised - there’s an egg, a mini shrimp in an oversized tempura batter, some fish cakes, 1 pc of mushroom and most surprisingly, 2 pcs of grilled mochi! A Japanese had told me before that each of these mochi cubes packs an equivalent amount of energy to a bowl of rice! Not that I would ordered this dish again because it’s too energy intense but it is indeed a good tasty dish for hungry folks.
