★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stumbled upon this place while taking a breather from Gion Matsuri. Was a very very nice meal. Tempura corn was amazing and the Kyoto Gyoza was very solid too. Nice attentive staff and good drink prices ¥500 for a high ball. Good selection of sake as well and there are a couple of English speaking staff that can help you through choices. Highly recommend this Izakaya.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Relatively reasonable prices. The roast pork hot noodle soup was just so-so. The fried chicken however was above average: very tasty! The staff speak some English and the menu is easy to navigate. The interior could use a complete overhaul as it's far from attractive but given the prices of the food and the standard of it, it's hard to argue too much. If you're on a budget it appears to be one of the better options in this particular area.
