I’ve been to Kyoto and around Japan recently and after eating at several reputed ramen restaurants, feel that this place is, beyond a doubt, the second best ramen restaurant, just behind Ichiran Ramen by just an inch. The broth was amazing. The noodles while not my favourite variety (curly thick), was a great match (thin straight). The pork thinly sliced melts in your mouth. I highly highly recommend this place, one of the best ramen I’ve had. My ranking: 1) Ichiran Ramen 2) Kairikiya Shijo Karasuma (Kyoto) 3) hakata issuitei (Shinjuku) Any others don’t even come close.

Not reccomemded for big group. There were 5 of us n we were lucky to got a 3 and 2 table. Broth was super thick and the hairband + lil message beside my seat was heartwarming. It was a nice place full of locals rather than tourists like in most mainstream big ramen joints.

I asked about and they give me 2 portions !! I was very happy because was super tasty and crispy. I always came here if I’m in town
S	Shingo Sae-Lim on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (Trip was made back then on 3 Dec 2019, 2 years before the Covid-19 Pandemic hit) Read that this was a very popular ramen place in Kyoto, and by golly they’re right! Their shoyu soup base was super tasty, flavourful and not overly rich. Their chashu wasn’t tough or gamey. Most important of all, their noodle didn’t reek of that awful ammonia smell (there was a slight trace but nothing too pungent). And though their egg yolk looked firm like it had already set, it was actually very soft like jelly(I didn’t know that they could achieve such a texture). And somehow all the ramen places we’ve tried, their leeks always tasted very good. Love this place. Definitely would come back for more.
