★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanted to have some ramen noodles and came upon this shop, not knowing it had such a good reputation. Upon entrance we were seated in a very welcoming manner. The shop itself has a very clean and light interior. As is custom with Japanese restaurant I got a glass of cold water and an English menu. There are just the right amount of dishes available and I personally asked the waitress what she could recommend to me. I had the wagyu ramen noodles and a draft beer. The noodles were incredible! The broth was so clean and tasteful! There was a nice depth to it and the noodles themselves were also really good. I can recommend this to anyone wanting to have a quality, affordable good bowl of ramen!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best Ramen in Kyoto! Great location and atmosphere. Outstanding service! The ramen soup is based on either Bonito (light) or Mackerel (dark/stronger) - no pork or chicken based soup. This makes the dish taste very light and nuanced. The ramen comes with a slice of pork for ¥800, wagyu beef ¥1200, or as a special version with duck ¥1300. Of course there are other smaller items on the menu too (try the natural yoghurt). You might have to line up and wait a little for a table but it is totally worth it. Been there many times and the quality is always on same great level - despite changing staff etc.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food was delicious (albeit different to the usual pork broth we were accustomed to) and the service was impeccable. Although we waited close to an hour in the line outside, the waitress came outside to take orders to ensure an efficient process. Once inside we were offered heated towels to warm up our hands as it was cold outside. We were also given a complimentary small chicken dish to enjoy with our beers as we waited for the main. As we were paying, the waiter was extremely friendly and asked us all about ourselves.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Found this shop after visiting Bukkoji Temple on a hot afternoon during my visit to Kyoto in September. It’s very thoughtful for them to put a portable air conditioner outside which make me feel more comfortable lining up. The wait took around 15 minutes and I was assigned to seat at the bar table. It is a very modish shop playing jazz music. The staffs are friendly and they can speak some English. I ordered the limited time A4 Wagyu Beef Cold Ramen and I have to say it’s the best ramen I have ever eaten. The wagyu beef just melted in my mouth, love the texture of the noodles, their broth (no animal fat) and the soft boiled egg. I will come again next time to try out the hot ramen! Thank you for the memorable experience. Top notch service & food!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Essential dining experience. Expect a line during peak hours, but it moves quickly. The anticipation was well deserved, and the meal was simple in design, but delicious! Recommend the Wagyu.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best ramen you should eat when you come to Kyoto. The soup, noodles, ingredients, customer service, and cleanliness of the restaurant are all good. There are not only counter seats but also table seats. The counter is not too cramped because of the partition and the space between the seats.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was looking for a decent ramen joint after an average dinner and this was rated highly on so thought would give it a try.
When arriving around 21:00 there was a few people waiting outside, only around 10mins and got in.
Inside it's not your average ramen joint from design, being amazingly clean and jazz music playing.
The ramen wasn't really the ramen I know - broth was strong taste of fish and the noodles were more like soba noodles.
I ordered the wagyu black soya noodles and was impressed with the taste and look... Quite fancy.
Was worth going to try for sure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Kyoto ramen experience. On the Kyoto Michelin Star guide for 2021!
Came on a weekday lunchtime and wasn’t too crowded, broth tastes quite different than what I usually get at other ramen spots - light, tasty (white or dark soy sauce broth) and comes with nice thin slices of meat. Has table and counter seats.
Ramen starts at 1000yen, option for extra noodles available.
