川内B遺跡は，市の中心部に近く，JR仙台駅より西約2km，地下鉄国際センター駅の西側に位置する。仙台城本丸跡から北へ800m，二の丸跡から南東に370mの位置にあり，標高は44.9～47.0mで下町段丘上に立地する。面積は約4,800㎡である。川内B遺跡が位置する仙台城二の丸北側の区域は，仙台城廃城の後，明治21年(1888)に陸軍第二師団が置かれ，第二次世界大戦終了まで使用された。戦後は米軍駐留地となり，昭和32年(1957)に返還され，現在は東北大学の川内キャンパスとなっている。近世～近代の遺構や遺物が検出された。遺跡の主体である近世の遺構は，柱列跡13条，建物跡1基，溝跡29条，井戸跡4基，土坑80基，カマド跡11基，性格不明遺構86基，ピット230基，杭列跡1条，石列遺構1基，総数456基が発見された。遺物は約30,000点が出土しており，その半分以上が陶磁器である。

The Kawauchi B site is located near the city center, about 2km west of JR Sendai Station, and west of the International Center Subway Station. It is located 800m north of the Sendai Castle Honmaru Ruins and 370m southeast of the Ninomaru Ruins, and is located on the Shitamachi Terrace at an altitude of 44.9-47.0m. The area is about 4,800 m2. The area on the north side of Sendai Castle, where the Kawauchi B site is located, was used until the end of World War II, when the 2nd Division of the Army was placed in 1888 after the abandonment of Sendai Castle. After the war, it became a US military station and was returned in 1957, and is now the Kawauchi campus of Tohoku University. Early modern to modern remains and relics were detected. The remains of the early modern period, which are the main remains of the ruins, are 13 pillars, 1 building, 29 ditches, 4 wells, 80 pits, 11 Kamado, 86 unidentified remains, and 230 pits. , 1 pile line trace, 1 stone line remains, 456 in total were found. About 30,000 relics have been excavated, more than half of which are ceramics.
