It is quietly located at the southwest corner of Nishi Park, at the foot of the bridge. I didn't even know it existed until recently because it's not very noticeable. I was informed that there was such an event in Sendai.

A bronze statue "Kirishitan Martyrdom Memorial" produced by Father Moriso Fukasawa, a priest of the Parish of Sendai. Showa with three statues of the Portuguese Father Calvario (Father Calwario), who is said to have been martyred under waterboarding at the foot of the Hirose River bridge, and the "samurai" and "farmer" who are also symbols of the people who were martyred together at that time. It is a monument erected in 1946. I may come here to reaffirm the happiness that the current Japanese Constitution guarantees freedom of thought and beliefs. The samurai, the priest, and the peasant are all at the same height. I think that is the reason why Christianity is banned, that is, under God, everyone is brothers, sisters, and equal. I am now free to think that way. Now we are guaranteed equality before the law. No one can tie you into the heart of a person like the Hirose River that runs beside you.

Date Masamune, who has a deep knowledge of the West and sent Tsuneaga Hasekura to Rome. Initially it was also tolerant of Christian missions, but the policy was changed by the ban on the shogunate. A monument telling the sad history of many believers and missionaries being executed after torture is quietly nestled on the banks of Ohashi.

The Hirosegawa Martyrs BB Diego Carvalho SJ & Companions Born in 1578, the Portuguese Jesuit, Bd.
I can't understand how to give up life by faith ? I think it's the end of the story no matter what I think ... If God says that he will be killed if he doesn't abandon his faith, I think he should say "discard" ? I wonder if religion is what you believe in to be happy I'm sorry for those who were killed badly here ?

It is said that Father Calvary and eight Christians martyred in the water blame near Ohashi there. There was also a marble sent from Calvary's father's hometown.

This bridge is called “Ohashi “,Fr Diego Carvalho and the others Christians died a martyr to the persecution of Christians. They had freeze to death in February in 1624.
The bridge over the Hirose River is Meganebashi, and Father Carwarillo and his followers were martyred in the dungeon below. I visited with deep respect for the faith that gave their lives. You can still feel the remnants of the dungeon. This bridge is called “Ohashi”, Fr Diego Carvalho and the others Christians died a martyr to the persecution of Christians. They had freeze to death in February in 1624.
