★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found this gem by luck and WOW! It’s a café place / tea room in total Japanese traditional style. The view is to die for. The matcha cappuccino is a delish. Great experience! Totally recommend it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a perfect place to make a break while walking down Philosopher's Path. I enjoy visiting places like this, it’s like a window into Japanese culture. People here are very friendly and helpful. I got a place with a great view without even asking for it. If I ever come to Kyoto again, this is one of the places I will go to see again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful food and very tasty. The portion was small, I could have eaten 3 times more. The gardens are very beautiful too, excellent service, a wonderful experience. There's a small shop selling local cosmetics at the end of the garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious desserts and treats, a wonderful place to stop and cool down on a hot summer day. Really nice and English friendly owners, shop has been there for over 150 years!
Hot food looked good but the real star here are the desserts. Don’t miss this little oasis that is a bit off the beaten track.
