Five restored houses, "former Kamiyama family house owner", "former Suzuki family house grain chest", "former Ogawa family house entrance building", "restored house at the beginning of reclamation", and "former Kodaira Ogawa post office building", and their accompanying Buildings such as a watermill are located. The history of the lost hometown of Kodaira, which was called "Fleeing Water Village" and was developed in the early Edo period with the opening of Tamagawa Aqueduct and developed into a Nitta village. It conveys a typical landscape to the present.

It is an old folk house garden that was relocated and restored to the side of "Tamako Bicycle Pedestrian Road" as "Kodaira Furusato Village" in 1993 from the modern building from the early Edo period to the Meiji period. At the entrance is the former Kodaira Ogawa Post Office, a Japanese-style building built in 1908, which is one of the oldest in existence. When you pass by the post office building, is it going to the Edo period at once? The "former Kamiyama family house owner" with a particularly large thatched roof is eye-catching. Various buildings from the Edo period, such as the "former Suzuki family residence Kokuhitsu" and the "former Ogawa family residence entrance building", are condensed and exhibited. In the back, it is a perfect healing facility where a "watermill" and a stream flow. In addition, there are many events for children, and I think it is a village where you can get interested in history while playing.

The landmark is a columnar post, which is rare now. I stopped by for the first time when I usually pass by by bicycle. On weekends, there is a Japanese sweets shop at the entrance where you can buy Kodaira sweets and dumplings. You can actually go inside and see the plaza where you can play in the old days (stilts, hula hoops, etc.) for free, and the private houses of farmers in the early Edo period. Even if I sit on the bench and take a break, I wonder if I will stay for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Children are likely to enjoy it if they are in the lower grades or younger. Before Corona, it seems that freshly boiled handmade udon noodles were eaten. I want you to restart ... I used to buy Japanese sweets and stop by for a break, but the regrettable thing is that there is no sale of coffee or tea. It's okay if it's a vending machine, so it's convenient if it's nearby. By the way, there is also a cycle rack, so sports cars can also be parked. If you are always looking sideways on your way to Sayama Lake, it may be a good idea to stop by.

Kodaira Furusato Village is a small open air museum exhibiting cultural heritage of Japanese way of living. There are old houses as well as the old Post Office which was restored. It's a really lovely place, rich with history, and it's located conveniently along the tranquil Kodaira Green Road.
