★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good place for young children that are fan of trains. I brought my 4 years old son there and he really enjoyed for the whole day. There is a lot of small activities such as seing what happens from a mechanical point of view when you are at the driver seat. You can get in some mini trains. And play with small toy trains as well. On the negative side ( and why I cannot give 5 stars), there is some substantial crowd so that any activity will require to wait ~10min. With young active/turbulent kids, this can be tiring for parents. Also there is food, but it is very expensive compared to any restaurant. And the food quality is average. If you go there, I strongly recommend you to bring your own food. Actually this is fine as there is a special train where people can est their bento!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I want to go this place a lot (in my personality). At last a have a chance. And I'm not disappoint in this place. This museum is so great! It has a lot of train to show, and every train have an own history (don't worry it has an English text). First time I think I will spend a time in this place about hour, but I used a time to enjoy with this place more than 3 hours! I'm so proud to have a chance to see a once time history of the train that still alive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Saitama Railroad Museum is a great place for a day out with the kids. Lots of trains displayed and qualitative educational content, really worth it. I do recommend you bring your own food or eat somewhere nearby, cause inside, the food is not great, pretty expensive and there are long queues.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing! Our son has such a good time but the adults enjoyed it too! Because of the pandemic, have to pre-purchase tickets before you go. Completely worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a bit far from Tokyo or kanagawa but is a beautiful place to see how Japanese railways have evolved over the period of time. They have been able to accommodate all the trains from the initial days. There are train simulators which you can drive but make sure you pre book it via app. Also the tickets are available at seven11 stores.
The best part is you can see series 1 shinkansen and from there how they improved to the latest one. This place is good for both kids and adults.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and size of this museum. There are many genuine, full size large train cars and engines on display from different eras of Japan, several of which visitors can board. The exhibit areas are large and allow for great photos, and there are viewing areas for trains passing by, including the Shinkansen line. It's important to reserve tickets in advance, though we were able to buy them at 7-Eleven across the street from the museum. During our visit, a few interactive exhibits were closed for social distancing, including the miniature train that children can normally ride.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing museum! Full size, authentic trains you can see up close. You can even practice driving a train on a couple of simulators. A very fun and educational place to learn about trains and the evolution or rail transportation in Japan.
