★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 京都で鰆を食べたのは初めてです。優しい味付けで日本酒と合い大将の人柄も垣間見える良いお店です。日本酒のコスパも素晴らしい。
 This is the first time I have eaten Spanish mackerel in Kyoto. It is a good restaurant with a gentle seasoning that goes well with sake and gives a glimpse of the general's personality. The cospa of sake is also wonderful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We don't speak Japanese, but got lucky that one guy from the staff knew a (very) little English and was incredibly patient with us and our finger pointing/Google Translate. And, man, it was worth it. Amazing food! Thank you for having us and for the patience with our language inability.
(P.s.: the entrance is hidden in a side alley - compare the kanji in the paper lamp with the restaurant name and you may find it)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The local sakes offered here were just amazing! We tried all of them and they were all good in their own way. The food were also simple and solid. With two people we were able to order about a third of the menu. Ankimo, gindara saikyoyaki, kani ankake, and uni croquette were some of our favorites.
