I wanted to have a drink in Pontocho alone during my trip to Kyoto, so I went there because there was a counter! The clerk was reasonably priced. When I go to Kyoto I want to go again!

お安く美味しいです。
飲み放題は京都の地酒も沢山あります。
I always order the all-you-can-drink duck pot.
It's cheap and delicious.
There are many all-you-can-drink local sakes from Kyoto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very disappointed with this incredibly average meal. We ordered the beef steak, which was okay but cold, the duck steak which was really nice, some vegetable tempura and egg porridge. All arrived at different times - we had finished the rest of the meal for a while before the egg porridge came.
We chose dishes that would add up to about £30 (4,000 yen). However when we received the bill, because of add ons that we couldn't read as they were in Japanese (what I assume is tax, service charge and some appetisers we didn't order), it came to about £50 (7,000 yen).
All in all a very mediocre dining experience. Never again.
