★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent noodles, well worth the short hike from Kinkaku Ji! I ordered the Nishin Soba (soba with salty sweet herring) and my girlfriend got the Noppei udon (dashi soup thickened with katakuriko starch then with added shiitake mushroom). English menu was available and the chef was very friendly and helpful!
