★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely tea ceremony experience. Atsuko is fluent in English and explained the meaning behind the tea ceremony and its significance in detail. The ceremony itself is very peaceful and gives a sense of tranquility. She also explained the different types of matcha and differences in flavor based on how it is grown. We could truly appreciate the high quality matcha. It was a truly wonderful experience and I highly recommend it if you are travelling in arashiyama.

They staff take the tea preparation very seriously, giving very detailed instructions about the brewing process and even bringing a chronometer for measuring the perfect brewing time. The lunch set menu, including tea, rice, a main dish, and all sort of side dishes, was incredibly affordable. An amazing experience.

We had a lovely host who explained the traditional ceremony I amazing detail and opted to have the matcha experience where we could also make our own bowl according to the rituals, which was amazing. We didn't try any of the other food, but the shaved ice looked incredible!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the tea ceremony experience, it was very detail and informative on the Japanese Tea and the etiquette. We had a great time and most importantly, my parents enjoyed it so much. Thank you to Atsuko-san for the arrangement. She was very helpful and friendly when she knew it was my parents first trip to Japan and we needed Chinese speaking ceremony. I hope to see you all again! ❤️
