Really good and also really filling. You might want to take a hour walk after you eat it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff was kind even though I couldn't speak Japanese. Ordered the smallest size, with hard noodles and more bean sprouts. The serving was enormous! Stuffed my face silly and had to roll out after. Go during off peak hours to avoid the long queues.

While waiting in line outside, I would recommend reading some of the articles on the Internet about this chain store to give you a hint of what you are getting into. After all, eating here is almost a ritualistic experience that some love and some hate.
In short, expect a massive bowl of ramen (even for a small) with a unique, thick broth. I liked how the noodles were thicker for a chewy texture, and the bean sprouts provide some relief to the hearty broth. At the end, I found it to be a little too much for my stomach to handle, and I left feeling a little queasy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is a must if you are a ramen fan. The noodles are thick and handmade, and the broth is excellent. Also the portions are big, I could hardly finish the regular size. Menu is just ramen, no sides, no fancy options. Last, way too cheap for the size and quality.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meat: the regular ramen is 2 pieces, single is 5 pieces, and (pictured) is the double which is 10 pieces. You can have more noodles for 100yen more, otherwise more veg, garlic etc is free. They do not mess around!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Let's just say subtlety is not the theme of this restaurant. You can choose, at no additional charge, extra beansprouts, garlic, fat, and/or spice. In any case, the salty, savory taste, and portion size are an absolute gut-punch to your stomach. It's greasy, heavy, meaty, and delicious... just be prepared with tissues and some tea to wash it down. You’re gonna need it.
For only 900￥ ($8 USD), you can get a huge W Double Chashu Ramen. (The normal noodle size is plenty!). Superb value but you have to know what you’re getting into.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First ate at Jiro five years ago and found the amount served far too much to finish. Perhaps because I knew what to expect this time round, I was able to eat methodically and enjoy my meal. The shop is fairly clean, the staff are friendly and the queue moves fast, although you should avoid lunch and dinner times if you don’t fancy a long wait. I’d recommend getting extra servings of garlic and bean sprouts (nin niku yasai mashi) and coming on an empty stomach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The ramen is delicious but can be a bit heavy on the stomach. Very easy to order with a ticket machine and fairly quick to eat despite seeing a long line. (I'd say the average wait was about 10 minutes and that was with a line of about 5 people in front)
