A historic museum where you can see valuable exhibits at the ruins of a mansion in Kyoto. Open for a limited time in spring and autumn (April-GW, October-November). Stored items that have been carefully stored are in a state that is not seen anywhere else, and wedding furnishings and ukiyo-e are particularly beautiful! The exhibits will be replaced every time according to the theme. In fact, this is a secret spot that people in Kyoto do not know. The exhibition hall is two stories high. You can put it in an Edo period building and the garden is beautiful. If you take a closer look, you can stay for hours, but it's not so wide, so if you want to hurry up, you can go around in 10-15 minutes, so it's also recommended to ladder alongside the Kyoto National Museum. The admission fee is cheap.

It is the residence of a wealthy merchant in the Edo period, whose ancestor is Kiyomasa Kato's vassal, but the collection is amazing. There are Iwasa Matabei and Sakai Hoitsu. It is well preserved and remains vivid, probably because it has not been designated as a cultural property and has not left here. Wedding tools are also on display, and the beauty of the kai-awase painting is that. .. The release in the spring of Reiwa 3 is right now! By all means!

You can see the old mansions and gardens of the trading house, which was an Edo store owner's shop, and the display of the collection items. Opening is about April and October only, see the website. Wedding furniture, paintings and ukiyo-e, crafts, old books, etc. In particular, Ukiyo-e and old books are in better condition and more beautiful than those seen at art museums. There are few people so you can watch very slowly. ----- "This building is based in Ashiya, which was a leading merchant in Kyoto, and was opened in 1974. Since then, we have made a special exhibition twice today. The Hagiwara family is said to be the ancestor of Higo Kumamoto Kiyomasa Kato Kato, the guardian of Ebara. It is said that the first Edo period Shopo 2 (1645) Sankyoon was set up in the office, and it started trading in Kyoto's small articles, folding fans, etc., gradually expanding the business area of commerce, cotton, lacquer and paper shops. It became a so-called Edo store holding Kyoto merchant with Edo, and is still in business in Tokyo and Osaka. All of the exhibits are handed down from the Edo period of the Sugawara family, and these are sequentially displayed with wedding furniture, paintings, Ukiyo-e, crafts, old books, etc. In addition, the present building escapes many large and small fires, and there are few things in Kyoto that keeps the appearance of a hundreds of years old business house. Some of the buildings are shown on request. " ----- Excerpt from the web

A museum in a building of a wealthy merchant in the Edo period. Exhibition for one month every spring and autumn. The exhibition is not introduced, and the building is not designated as a cultural property, so it seems that everyone in the know knows it. This time, Japanese paintings such as the wedding tools of his wife, who was a few generations ago, the axis of Yoshikazu Sakai, and Ukiyo-e of Hokusai will be exhibited. Since it is exhibited only in this place, it is very well preserved and beautiful. I also showed you the mansion. I don't live now. Is the old part 320 years ago? Is the current owner in his twelve? .. It is still sold in Nihonbashi. On this Higashiyama Ward Tonyacho Dori, there are shops and buildings that are said to have been founded in the Meireki culture, and I thought that it was Kyoto too ?
