It's an irresistible spot for Shinsengumi fans. If you come here, you can learn a lot about history. More than 5,000 materials are stuck in the Bakuhan system, and you can see the lives of young people in their 20s and 30s who put their lives into the reform of the restoration. Reach Beyond the Blue Sky of NHK's Taiga, and the Tokugawa and Meiji governments will come out, so it's best to watch it together with the drama. If you go inside, you may nod. It has the beauty of relics and letters, and an exhibition of swords, but everyone also had intelligence and culture ... Tokugawa Yoshinobu's poem by Tsuruhi Matsuun is 11 years old. Fujita Koshiro's one-man enemy poetry is too good. To the president of Nakai Paper Company, Eiichi Shibusawa, Chinese poetry to Akitake Tokugawa, and the most surprising thing is the folding screen character of Isami Kondo, what a beauty different from the face. (smile) A miniature version of the reenactment of the incident, Ikedaya, Omiya, Ryoma until the last moment, Mibudera, Yagi's house, Maekawa's house, and if it's so wide, cannon training will be available ... I laughed when Ryoma's letter came out with laughter. Why did Eiichi Shibusawa succeed in an era when many young people died? "I had the courage, the ability to carry out the business, and the kindness. The theory, the abacus, and the theory of moral management." That's why I was hospitable to women. Speaking of which, Konosuke Matsushita is at the entrance of the building, too ... The founder and the first director. Konosuke wanted to convey the aspirations of the late Shogunate to young people (from the philosophy of the museum). It's okay, young Anne came from elementary school today too!

If you can't speak Japanese it isn't really worthwhile due to almost no English whatsoever - prepare to have Wikipedia be your guide. Very interesting period in Japanese history though so worth learning about.

If you can understand Japanese and you're interested in the Bakumatsu period this is a super interesting place to go and check out! Otherwise, you'll be bored.

Just incredible, this museum houses multiple pieces of history. There is a lot of material around the assassination of Ryouma Sakamoto. Even a bloodstained wall tapestry from the inn where he was killed. Furthermore, there are the actual katana of Kondou Isami and Hijikata Toushizou. And some other blades which had a big play in Japan's history. Furthermore, the progress of the Meiji restoration is detailed. There is no English guide though, but many pieces have English descriptions. You might indeed need Wikipedia if you want to know the details. Either way, it's worth coming here if you're interested in seeing exhibits from Japanese imperial history. The shop is small and has some excellent shiny and borderless Samurai clan logo stickers that are really beautiful and will fit on your mobile phone or other hard surfaces. Do show your student card - I got in for 400¥ instead of 900¥ because I'm a foreign student.
