★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is wonderful, nice services, but did not enjoy the main course menu this winter. Need to learn more about Japanese languange so I can choose the menu well.
Sometimes I think the review on the restaurant is over rated, since I enjoyed my dinner in the Kamogawa river last summer but in a different restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We tried 8 courses menu and none of the fishes were good. Order cocktail that taste like juice with water. The place has a cosy atmosphere but very overpriced for the food you get.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The restaurant is small. It was raining so we move to inside, our reservation was for outside waterfront. Food, delicious, however, every serve is small, not make me full. They mostly focus on quality of the food, and make every dish an art. Nice beer, make me slightly drunk. Happy happy !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Ordered the 10 course set, decided by the chef. Waitress was extremely helpful and spoke great English, explained each dish in detail. Sashimi had a few usual suspects and one fish I’ve never tried which kind of blew my mind with how tasty it was. Stuffed and grilled trout was excellent and salty. Wagyu cooked perfectly, melted in my mouth. I didn’t know how to do shabu-shabu, so the waitress mercifully stepped in to show me how to. Also loved the desserts! Outside was closed when I was there, but would love to come back to try it whenever I’m back in Kyoto!
