★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow. Wow. Wow. One of the best steaks I have had, period. Recommended by a friend who had come here four months ago. The owner is a second generation butcher, which he still operates as today, but has also founded this little restaurant, selecting the cattle and the cuts of meat. The preperation, quality, and variety of the dishes is really superb. On top a really cozy atmosphere, and a ver nice restauranteur. Would highly recommend, and certainly for steaks, couldn't think of a better place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic meal. Stumbled across this restaurant by accident but so glad we did. It is a restaurant owned by a famous Kyoto butcher and it specialises in dry aged steaks (or cheaper dry aged hamburgers). The vegetable/salad selection is also good. Appetisers looked nice but we weren’t that hungry. The steaks themselves were some of the best we’ve ever had and they have a good wine list too. Price wasn’t too bad considering the excellent quality. This is an upper mid-range restaurant that ticks all the boxes.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I accidentally went into this shop instead of the soba restaurant next door, but I don't regret it. It is a bit on the pricier side (about 2900Y) and the meal reflects it. It was a full course with a dessert that was by far the best sweet I've had in Kyoto. If you're looking to splurge a bit I would recommend this restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Japanese beef made to perfection. We stumbled upon this beautiful buchery/restaurant and made a reservation for two nights ahead. the staff were kind and hospitable, but the food was impossibly better. Perfect night!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intimate, cosy and the best steak you’ll ever have. We ordered a number of dishes, including the “waiting for steak” option, spaghetti, hamburger and steak. The crowning jewel of the night was the marbled steak. They give you 5 tiers of steak options and we chose #2. I can’t imagine what #5 tastes like! The spaghetti is a close second, with a delicate ragu texture, it’s also a must have. The 12 year old whiskey was the perfect way to end the meal. Don’t miss this restaurant if you’re visiting Kyoto and need a break from the busy streets of Gion.
