★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I think this temple is quite unique and feels modern in a way compared to other temples. Even though it's in the main road (an intersection nonetheless) and it's really close to Kiyomizu-dera, this temple does not attract many tourists. Really calm and peaceful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ as everyone mentioned, it is very calming place. if you wanna step aside from all the crazy busy touriststic streets on your way to Kiyomizu-dera, there is also a back alley to there from the back of this temple. only set back is you have to go through a massive grave yard if you decided to go through the alley....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful temple. During the time i visited, the surrounding grounds were very green and lush. The blossoms were still in bloom and the area was so beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you don't like the crowds and love nice temples, you should visit and pay homage to this one. When we were there at about 9am, there were no guests and no tourists. The temple buildings and temple grounds were very well kept and clean. They have some nice bonsai and a nice bridge on temple grounds. I also liked that they put fresh flowers in their purification water fountain. I thought that was a nice touch.
